HeiGIT presents ohsome Lab at FOSS4G 2019 Bucharest

This week, the annual conference FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) is taking place in Bucharest, Romania. The conference is organized by The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) and attracts over 1000 professionals from industry and academia each year. The HeiGIT Big Spatial Data Team will present the ohsome platform and related tools such as the oshome API, the ohsome dashboard or the ohsomeHEX OSM History Explorer in a 90 minutes lab session.

Title: Analyzing the OpenStreetMap History with the ohsome Platform

Lab-Info: The ohsome platform https://ohsome.org allows to query the OpenStreetMap OSM history data on a global scale and hence to examine the data evolution and user contributions in a flexible way. Use cases of this platform are to explore OSM history data, to investigate, and to analyse the quality of OSM data by using intrinsic measures.

When: Wednesday, 28th of August 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm (EEST / UTC+3) Sessions Round 2

Where: Room 5, University of Bucharest

Related blog posts: Basically almost every post under the ohsome tag, especially part 1 and part 2 of the “how to become ohsome” series. We are looking forward to this special conference and to maybe see some familiar faces in our lab.

Ohsome is based on the oshdb (OpenStreetMap history database) as explained here:
